I watched Cramer on Friday and I listened to his talk, “One Year Later”, and I have to completely agree with him. But yet we have gone up and down, and on CBC comments like the following are written.
There is no recovery. the crash is imminent. stock up on supplies and food. the end is close

Move past the dead cat bounces, we are moving into the greatest depression. The western world is bankrupt. We are only going further into …

I have had a very rough time with GPS navigation devices. When TomTom dropped by 28% even though they had good earnings I wondered what happened. I checked in my email box and saw the problem was that Google is giving away its GPS turn by turn application.

Really? Interesting especially considering that Google has to license the data from TeleAtlas and that is owned by TomTom. Of course Google will do a cross-licensing deal and still has 3 years left in its contract. But let’s be frank about this Google …

I had an interesting conversation with a good friend yesterday. He said the following to me:
“You know Christian how they cut people off at the legs last year with no warning, well we are so busy right now we don’t know what to do with all the work.”

He then continued and tried to rationalize why with all of the news his software company is so busy (until at least March 2010).
“People have been laid off, but the work is still there. They are not sending people to conferences, or to …

Today and yesterday on CNBC I keep hearing about how managed healthcare and price controls on drugs are going to spell the end of research today. It is a very very tiring argument. My sister about fifteen years ago dated a PHD student that was a cancer researcher and he told me an interesting thing. He said that there will never be a cure for cancer because it is more profitable to keep people terminal than actually solve it. That did depress him but he said he would continue to …

Disclosure: I am long Intel, sold my position in AMD for a profit about a week ago
Fast Money was saying, “oh look at that high volume on Intel and look it failed.” According to them this is bad news. I hate when people make these calls based on what they “think”.
I will admit I trust my numbers quite a bit. I also admit that sometimes my numbers are off. But I will also admit when my numbers are off I don’t hesitate to go to plan B. This is the …

Don’t get me wrong, I like Obama. But to get a peace prize? For what? As the Washington post said, What about Clinton? He actually did something. Again I like Obama, but many people on this side of the pond were saying to me, “Really for what?”
Maybe expectations?
"And (the) Nobel Committee, I can’t divine all their intentions, but I think part of their decision-making was expectations. And I’m sure the president understands that he now has even more to live up to." — Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.

Yeah right, ok so …

Disclosure: I have no position in NVDA, but did liquidate my position about a week ago before I heard of the following news.
I was reading OSNEWS and saw the following headlines:
NVDIDIA Ceases all Chipset Development, Blames Intel
The future of integrated graphics processors lies somewhere on the dies of future processors, that much is a certainty. However, this creates a big problem for NVIDIA, whose chipset business will be out, of well, business. Beating everybody to the punch, the company announced yesterday that it is ceasing all development on future chipsets, …

Disclosure: Long AA, sold my FCX position for an excellent profit 71– 22 = 49 per share profit.
So why do I think Guy got it wrong on his FCX call, and AA short?
Guy’s point is earning power and fundamentals. Ok Guy let’s look at the two companies shall we.
AA average EPS 1.70, with a share price hovering around 14 and change means a PE of 8.38. Their revenue growth is about 11 to 12 percent. Thus AA is underpriced for their potential growth.
FCX on the other hand has an average …

Oh give me a break Geithner, you want what?
U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner on Tuesday called on the International Monetary Fund to provide rigorous surveillance to spot new investment bubbles and keep country foreign exchange policies in line with goals to rebalance the global economy.

"The IMF will need to be a truth-teller," Geithner said in the remarks, which were to be delivered by Treasury Acting Assistant Secretary Mark Sobel.
"For the IMF, this means that rigorous surveillance must help us shed light on trends that could lead to the next unsustainable …
