Hi Chris,

I have been analyzing retail stocks for over two decades now and "profits per store" is where the rubber hits the road when it comes to making money in this sector. My biggest winner was Neiman Marcus which a few years back had profit per store of $9.3 million and was eventually bought out. You can see why with numbers like that.

Lowe's is ok but it will always be a close second to Home Depot. If you compare the Value Line tear sheets for each you will see that HD beats Lowe's in every catagory.

With your retail analysis, I've heard that Lowes is a great company to purchase, and very well run. You're saying Home Depot is great. Is per-store sales the only thing to look at, or could there be another better metric, such as Walgreen's per customer visit?
